"Raul 'Lobito' Montoya staked a claim on an even higher ranking than his current number five spot Friday night by pounding out a unanimous 10-round decision over 8th-ranked lightweight Shinichi 'Jaguar' Kakizawa in the main event at the Municipal Auditorium. Montoya and Kakizawa had the crowd in a tizzy for all 10 rounds as each of them threw bombs with both hands, but both men are such superb defensive fighters that few of them landed. Montoya piled up an advantage with jabs and a vicious right to the ribcage but neither man went down and neither was in trouble.
