"San Pedro's lightweight Raul Rojas stretched his unbeaten string to 24 when Blackie Zamora of Corpus Christi, Texas, failed to answer the bell for the 7th round in their scheduled 10 round main event at the Olympic Auditorium Thursday night. Rojas dominated the fight from the first round as he sent the lanky Zamora to the canvas for an eight-count with a fast right hand midway in the heat. Again in the 2nd round Rojas got inside Zamora's long jab and rocked the Texan with a solid left hook to the head. Zamora was staggered and hurt again in the 5th round when Rojas landed a right and followed with a left hook which sent the Texan sagging into the ropes. Zamora fought a toe-to-toe battle through the 6th but referee Joey Olmos refused to allow him to answer the bell for the 7th." -Long Beach Press-Telegram
