Vilomar Fernandez 135 lbs beat Ray Lampkin 136 lbs by UD in round 10 of 10

"Vilomar Fernandez, a local kid from the South Bronx, upset Ray Lampkin the No. 1 lightweight contender from Portland, Ore., Friday night on a unanimous 10 round decision at MSG. Fernandez, unbeaten in four 1975 bouts, set the tone of the fight midway through the 1st round when he dropped Lampkin with a right hand lead followed by a left hook. Lampkin, who lapsed into a coma following his title bout with Roberto Duran last summer, was in trouble throughout and suffered a second knockdown from a left hook with a little more than two minutes left in the 9th round." -United Press International
