"Ray Lunny III sped to his 18th victory against two draws on the artistry of a rapier left jab and some hard right hand leads against the counter-punching Aurelio Muniz. Lunny had his usual slow start, but picked up the pace in the 2nd round. By the 4th frame, Ray was completely beating Muniz to the punch and had a flowing control of the fight. By the time the fast-paced bout rolled around to the 7th, Lunny was already flaunting his superior speed by teasing Muniz with a wide open stance and then whipping up a connecting left hook. In the 9th Muniz jolted Lunny out of his complacency with a double left hook. But in the final stanza, Lunny caught Muniz with a good straight right near the ropes and streamed in a succession of rights and lefts on the former Mexican featherweight champ. And the rest was just a matter of the judges rendering the official decision." -San Mateo Times
