Heavyweight boxer. Active in the 1960s in California. Fought in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Modesto, Fresno, Las Vegas and Sacramento. Promising Golden Gloves contender dropped out of boxing due to family/religious conflicts. Mr. van Heeringen went on to develop a successful career with Beacon Oil Co. in Hanford, California. The company later was sold to Diamond Shamrock of Texas.

Last known information showed that Mr. van Heeringen was working as a public school bus driver in Central California. He was married twice and has three daughters by the first marriage; two of the daughters are a set of twins. His daughters are in their thirties and reside in Utah.

Mr. VanHeeringen enjoys playing cards and fishing in his free time.
