It is unknown whether this boxer was a professional. According to newspaper wire reports of April 2, 1931, he was sparring with Hilario Sierra Garcia in Mexico City when he got angered by the blows he was receiving. He removed his gloves and stabbed Garcia with a dagger, killing him.
