In the third minute of the fight, an unintentional headbutt by Hersisia opened a deep cut over Petranyi's eye. The referee ordered "stop" and jumped in between the fighters, but Hersisia landed a body shot about more than one second after the call, from which Petranyi kneeled on the canvas. The referee didn't count, but sent the fighters to the corners and indicated that the bout was over. At this point Olaf Schröder, Hersisia's manager, entered the ring shouting at the referee, who, after the incident, surprisingly announced the TKO victory by Hersisia.
