Roberto Duran 136 lbs beat Hiroshi Kobayashi 136 lbs by KO at 0:30 in round 7 of 10

Duran backed former junior lightweight champion Kobayashi to the ropes and put him down for the count with a right-left-right combination to the head.

"Panama's latest sensation, Roberto 'Rocky' Duran, 136, scored a 30-second 7th-round knockout over former junior lightweight champion, Hiroshi Kobayashi, 132 3/4, of Japan, before an over-capacity crowd. Both men exchanged punches in an even opening round while Duran had the edge in the 2nd. The 3rd, 4th and 5th were even before they mixed it up in the 6th with Duran landing hard combinations to Kobayashi's head. Then came the end of the battle. Kobayashi threw a left hook to Duran's body and 'Rocky' counter-attacked with a sharp over-hand right to the jaw with the Japanese going down for the full count." -Ring Magazine, April 1972 issue
