Vasquez was knocked down in the second round. In the fourth, Aguirre was cut over his right eyelid, which he claimed unsuccessfully was from a headbutt. The ringside physician ruled he was able to continue. Once the action was restarted, Aguirre indicated he could not continue and Cortez stopped the bout.
