Rocky Castellani 151 lbs lost to Charley Fusari 147 lbs by UD in round 10 of 10

"Rocky Castellani, the pride of the Pennsylvania coal towns, is the latest victim of the rookie-of-the-year jinx. Recently feted as the outstanding boxing newcomer of 1948, Castellani was beaten by Charley Fusari last night in a close 10 rounder at MSG. Castellani blew his big chance when he failed to flatten Fusari in the 1st round. Bouncing to the attack, he caught Charley cold and dropped him for a three count with a terrific right to the head. Over-anxious and inexperienced, he let him get away. Usually a stand-up boxer, Castellani abandoned his accustomed style to try a lunging attack. Bouncing and bobbing at long range, often with both hands dangling at his side, Rocky too often rushed smack into a sharp right counter from Fusari. Although outpointed by Fusari, Castellani was not disgraced. The verdict was unanimous but close." -Associated Press
