There was a Rocky Evans reported in the December 1953 The Ring, at p. 40. Corporal Evans was a veteran of 63 professional bouts (58 wins, 5 losses), and was conducting a boxing clinic to ready instructors for company-level competition in the 27th Infantry Regiment. This was a feature of the Wolfhounds' post-truce (Korean War) program of increased athletics and recreation. It was reported that Evans was an American West Coast ringman who had won the Bronze Star for valor while serving with the Wolfhounds during the Korean War. He was then serving as a corpsman with the 27th Medical Company.
