Rodolfo Gonzalez 135 lbs beat Jimmy Robertson 135 lbs by UD in round 10 of 10

"A packed gathering of 7,000 fans saw the title hopes of Irish Jimmy Robertson dimmed by Rodolfo Gonzalez in ten torrid rounds. For Jimmy, who claimed before the bout that there wasn't a Mexican alive who could beat him, it was a very long evening. The roof fell in on the Irishman as early as the second, when some sharp punching by Rodolfo razored both of Jimmy's eyes. Gonzalez failed to let up on his opponent in the middle rounds, firing vicious rights to the body and mixing his punches well to the head. In the eighth, a persuasive speech by Robertson and his manager, Gordon Shaw, kept Dr. Bernhart Schwartz from halting the affair, but Jimmy was already too far behind at that point. The official cards told the story, as referee John Thomas (7-2), and judges George Latka (6-3) and Abe Cohen (5-3) all voted for Gonzalez." -World Boxing, August 1972 issue.
