German veteran heavyweight Roland Graetz (10-10-5) made his second appearance in Oslo when he drew with promising Aruban heavyweight Ireno Werleman over 6 rounds. Graetz had been stopped here in 1965 by Ray Patterson.
Werlemann (82,4 kg) was aggressive from the start, Graetz drew applaus for catching blows on his gloves. Werleman rained in punches, while Graetz only threw explosive series when he was sure of hitting. Werleman won the last round on a left swing which shook the German. No protests though when the draw verdict was announced.
