Ron Lyle 211 lbs beat Manuel Ramos 211 lbs by UD in round 10 of 10

"Ron Lyle, getting his first shot at a name boxer, won a unanimous decision over Manuel Ramos before a sell-out crowd of 7,827 at the Auditorium Arena. The temptation to try for another knockout must have been strong for Lyle, but he restrained himself and effectively used jabs to keep the hard-punching Ramos away. As the 10-round fight drew on Lyle gained more and more confidence in the jab and used it effectively in the late rounds to draw blood from Ramos' nose. In the 10th, with Ramos staggered by repeated lefts to the body, Lyle's intent to knockout Ramos was evident late in the round. But Lyle backed off with 18 seconds left and contented himself with his first decision victory over 10 rounds." -The Colorado Springs Gazette-Telegraph
