"Ron Lyle kept his pro career alive as he survived a 3rd round knockdown and went on to capture a split decision from Scott LeDoux in a 10 round bout Saturday night. The 37 year old Lyle used his left hook in gaining the decision by the scantest of margins from the 30 year old LeDoux from Anoka, Minn. LeDoux floored Lyle in the 3rd and then followed with a right cross that put the Denver boxer into the ropes again. From then on it was a come-from-behind effort for Lyle and only one point separated the fighters in the judges cards at the end. Lyle was unmarked while LeDoux bled from the nose, from a cut above the nose and had his right eye almost closed." -Associated Press
