Ronald McCall won three New York Golden Gloves Championships. McCall won the 1984 132lb Novice Championship, 1985 139lb Open Championship and the 1988 156lb Open Championship. In 1988 McCall defeated Ray Rivera of Gleason's Gym in the finals to win the Championship. McCall trained at the Bed-Stuy Boys Association.
