"Veteran Rory Calhoun today looked forward to a TV bout on the basis of a win Sunday night in his 10-round middleweight match with 3rd-ranked Hank Casey. Calhoun coasted in the three opening rounds, then found the range to Casey's body and laced at it for the 4th, 5th and 6th rounds. Then Calhoun got in trouble in the 7th. Casey, from San Francisco, caught his opponent with a two handed combination and had Calhoun, of White Plains, N.Y., staggering when the 7th ended. Calhoun managed to hang on during an 8th round followup by the faster Casey. However, he managed to turn the tide again, returning to his earlier body attack in the 9th and 10th." -United Press International
