Rufus Williams Gallery

Although Columbus, Ohio, was reported as being the residence of Rufus Williams, he spent much of his boxing career in San Francisco. It appears that he arrived in Hawaii in 1901 by boat from the far east. He started boxing career, it seems, in early 1910. He apparently used the name Henry Polk during his three year enlistment with the 24th Infantry Regiment from June 1913-1916; He then served in the 25th until his discharge on May 26, 1919.
