"WBC junior welterweight champion Saensak Muangsurin knocked out Jo Kimpuani of Zaire in the 14th round. It was Muangsurin's sixth title defense of the year. The fight was close during the early rounds, but Saensak's murderous body assault began to take its toll as the fight wore on. By the 12th round, Kimpuani was doing nothing more than surviving. After the 13th round the ringside physician visited the corner and stopped the fight. Jo was bleeding from the nose, mouth and left eye, and his face was rapidly beginning to swell. There was no purpose in allowing the one-sided fight to continue." -World Boxing, May 1978 issue
