"Italian flyweight Salvatore Burruni, fighting from the 5th round with a jammed thumb, lost a 10 round overweight fight unanimously to Chartchai Chionoi of Thailand here Tuesday. The Thai boxer using a longer reach to full advantage stalked Burruni from the beginning, and in the 9th round opened a small cut over his left eye. Burruni sustained another cut over his right eye in the final round. There were no knockdowns." -Associated Press
