    • The Ring February/March 1964 reported:

    Milan, Italy- At the Lido. Sandro Lopopulo was almost knocked over by a crisp right to the jaw thrown by Karl Furcht of Germany in first round but the Italian boxed cooly and survived the crisis. Furcht resorted to rough tactics in the following rounds and the fight was finally stopped in the sixth round due to Furcht's badly damaged optic.
