Fairlamb unleashed a heavy left hand from his southpaw stance that landed flush on the side off his opponent's head, and deposited him to the canvas. Weingarten was able to get up by the count of six, but was off balance and fell again to the canvas. He immediately struggled to his feet before the ten count, but referee Earle Morton saw he was still on unsteady legs and called a halt to the contest
