Glass was also an actor in film and television from the early 1960s to the early 1990s. He appeared in the films This Is Not a Test (1962), Deliverance (1972), Bootleggers (1974), and Winterhawk. He had also appeared in Star Trek, in the episode Mudd's Women. Glass also had an uncredited role as boxer in Kid Galahad (1962).

Glass also worked as an educator for many years in Los Angeles, teaching and working as a counselor at Fairfax High. Glass also published a novel "Half-Assed Marines", in 2010.
