Sean Knight won two New York Golden Gloves Championships. He also represented his native Barbados in 1988 Olympics in Seoul, South Korea losing his 2nd bout to Kostya Tszyu by RSC-1.
Knight won both the 1987 125lb Open Championship and the 1989 132lb Open Championship.
In 1987 Knight defeated Frank Cimino of the South Queens Boys Club in the finals to win the Championship. Cimino was trained by Tommy Gallagher. In 1989 Knight defeated Victor Miller of the Police Athletic Leagues Webster Center in the finals to win the Championship. Knight trained at the Yonkers Police Athletic League in Yonkers, New York.
