The Seattle Civic Auditorium/Opera House was located in the Seattle Center, which is where the Space Needle is located. It opened in 1927, serving as the center of arts and opera for Seattle. It also conducted boxing shows, with William Coyle as its manager in the late 1920s.

The firm of Austin-Bremer-Smithers, featuring Lonnie Austin, promoted Friday night boxing shows here in the early 1930s before rival Nate Druxman won the promotional war.

The Civic Auditorium remained virtually unchanged, save for an upgrade to the facade for the 1962 World's Fair, until it began to show serious wear during the turn of the 21st century. It was replaced in 2003 by McCaw Hall.
