1925-07-04 Everett, Washington, US

This show was probably held in a city park, probably Legion Memorial Park [1]. This boxing show was part of a huge 4th of July "Patriotic Program" provided by the Earl Faulkner Post of the American Legion. [2] The Earl Faulkner Post exists to this day.

Faulker was a soldier who died in action during World War I. Faulkner himself may have been a boxer in the United States Army, as evidence by the October 26, 1917, boxing show at Tacoma's Glide Rink, when boxers from nearby Fort Lewis put on exhibition bouts for the civilians. Kid Faulkner was one of the boxers. (Whether they are the same person is unknown.) [3][4]. Faulkner's name is among those on the WWI War Dead Memorial by the Everett Police Department Building.
