World heavyweight champion Jim Braddock headlined the program in a three-round exhibition with Jack McCarthy. The actor and comedian Joe E. Brown refereed their bout, and added his comic flair to the exhibtion as he pretended to swing at Braddock with wild punches, before collapsing to the canvas from exhaustion.
