Reported in 1949-5-17 Wilmington Morning News (Wilmington). The main attraction of the card was a 4-round exhibition bout between Sugar Ray Robinson and Al Tribuani of which Joe Hukill wrote that "Wilmington was treated to a dazzling display of boxing skill and foot work by the master showman from Harlem. Tribuani, who is launching a comeback in the middleweight ranks, after a career as a welterweight that ended in 1944, showed that his absence from the ring has in no way detracted from his former skill'. The paid attendance was 4, 411, Jersey Joe Walcott attended.
