Doc Snell was scheduled to face Jimmy Piela in the main event at an agreed upon weight of 127 pounds. After Snell weighed 128 pounds, and refused to sweat off the remaining pound, the main event was cancelled. The scheduled semifinal match between Larry Murphy and Gene Reed was bumped up to the main event, as a result.
