Augie Ratner was scheduled to face Frankie Schoell in the main event of the program. When Ratner, who was fighting on a percentage of the gate, saw a disappointing crowd, he asked for a guarantee. After being offered a $500 guarantee, Ratner refused to fight, and his bout with Schoell was cancelled.
