Reported in 1939-2-21 Clearwater Sun (Clearwater). Because of a dispute with manager Willie Santana of Tampa, caused by the poor performance of his fighters in last week's main event, the local boxing commission decided to no longer use the services of the manager. The first (and only) of the cards staged under this 'new deal' proved a disaster and was described as the worst ever in Clearwater's history. It is likely that the unknown fighters from various parts of the U.S. that fought on this card, were really local boys fighting under assumed names.
