The Seattle Coliseum was located at 5th and Pike: [1]. It had been built in 1915 by B. Marcus Priteca (who also designed the popular Crystal Pool boxing venue), and it became known as "the first of the world's movie palaces." [2], [3] It may have been next to, or replaced, the Empire Theatre at 508 Pike Place, which had earlier presented boxing shows held under the auspices of the Graystone Athletic Club. [4]
