The scheduled main event of Andy Chaney vs. Pepper Martin, was cancelled after the commission physician determined that Martin had swollen glands and had been operated on the day before for boils. The commission tried to replace Martin with Chick Hayes, Artie O'Leary, Frankie Britt, and finally Danny Frush. All of the men were either not approved or unable to perform on short notice.
