H-Town Eagles professional boxer Duran Caferro will fight for the Montana Middleweight Championship on Jan. 2,
at the Broadwater County Fairgrounds near Townsend. The 6-foot Caferro will move up two weight classes to fight
against Daniel Gonzalez in a scheduled six round bout.
Caferro, 26, sports a pro record of 11-1, with nine knockouts. He boxed over 200 amateur bouts (178-46) and was
a nine-time national champion before turning pro in 2012. After losing his third pro bout, Caferro has strung
together nine consecutive victories.
Gonzalez is from Billings and owns a record of 10-33-2. The 36-year old Magic City pugilist has knocked out three
opponents, while being stopped nine times. Gonzalez, who is seven inches shorter than Caferro at 5-5, has lost 18
of his last 19 fights.
Tickets and tables are on sale at the Eagles Lodge and Bowser's Lucky Dog Casino. Advance tickets are $15,
tickets at the door are $20 and tables are $200. Kids 8 and under are free. The event will also feature
several other fights and will begin at 7:30 p.m. For more information, call 459-2270.
