This was the inaugural promotion of Billy O'Brien at Ohio National Guard Armory. The undercard bouts were reported in the pre-fight piece of the Cincinnati Enquirer, as being semi-pro bouts, which appeared to be the reasoning behind the presence of judges on the undercard. Two of the boxers on the undercard had previously appeared on pro cards under the jurisdiction of the Cincinnati boxing commission.
