Off-TV Results From Brooklyn [2]
By Arvin Nundloll and John DiSanto at ringside FightNews April 16th, 2016
Brooklyn female featherweight star Heather Hardy (16-0, 4 KOs) kept her unbeaten record intact with a fourth round TKO over
Swedish opponent Anna Hultin (8-3, 2 KOs) in round four of their scheduled eight rounder. Hardy faced a more athletic and taller
opponent in Hultin, meaning that she needed to keep the action inside the pocket. The first few rounds had Hultin picking away at
Hardy with her reach but failing to stop Hardy from advancing inside and getting her body shots in. The third round saw Hardy
unleash a volley of hooks, catching Hultin with an overhand right and opened up her nose to create problems for Hultin’s
breathing. During the fourth round, Hultin appeared to sustain a shoulder injury and turned away, forcing the referee to consult
the doctor at ringside for a diagnosis. Having received confirmation that the right shoulder was preventing her from fighting the
referee stopped the fight. The time of the stoppage at 2:48 in round four.

San Antonio lightweight Mario Barrios pitched an eight round shutout against veteran Edgar Gabejan of the Philippines to push his
record to 15-0, 8 KOs. Barrios scored a flash knockdown in the first round and dominated the rest of the fight. All three official
scores were 80-71. Gabejan fell to 26-33-6, 9 KOs.

Brooklyn cruiserweight Earl Newman, 9-0, 7 KOs, remained undefeated with a fourth round TKO of Dustin Echard, 13-3, 10 KOs. Echard
was tough, but Newman hit the mark with an overhand right in round four that ended the fight. Pittsburg-based Echard backed away
from the hard punch and slowly took a knee. He made it back to his feet before the count of ten, but did not respond to the
referee when asked if he wanted to continue. The fight was stopped at 2:30 of round four.

Razhab Butev mowed down Tykeem Sadler in their junior middleweight bout, knocking him down twice before the referee waved off the
bout. The official time of the stoppage was 1:47 in round one. Butev moves to 2-0 with 2 KOs while Sadler drops to 6-2 with 4 KOs.

In the opening bout at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY, Polish jr. middleweight Lukasz Maciec, 23-3-1, 5 KOs, defeated El
Paso’s Jeremy Ramos, 9-4, 4 KOs, via 8-round unanimous decision. Maciec controlled most of the action and won by scores of 77-74
and 79-73 twice.
