During 1904, he emigrated from London, United Kingdom and entered the United States when arriving in New York, New York. According to an accompanying affidavit in digital form, Soklyn served in the United States Army from June 13, 1918 to April 15, 1919. The naturalization petitions were dated January 30, 1936.
