Goldberg was a successful boxing promoter in Toledo in the 1940s and 1950s, bringing many nationally televised programs to Toledo. Outside of boxing, Goldberg was also involved in basketball owning the Toledo White Huts of the National Basketball League and the Toledo Mercurys, who were a regular touring opponent of the Harlem Globetrotters. Goldberg also worked as a circulation district manager for the Toledo Blade newspaper.
