Mikel Angel was an actor, writer and director whose career in Hollywood spanned over three decades. Most noted for co-starring with former child star Bobby Diamond in Airborne; a 1962 film about a group of soldiers going through paratrooper training. Angel also performed in such films as Tell Them Willie Boy is Here with Robert Redford, The Detective with Frank Sinatra and The Valley of the Dolls with Patti Duke.

Prior to his acting career, Angel served in the military where he was an undefeated amateur boxer and later turned professional in Guam. He reportedly never lost a fight going 3-0 as an amateur and 2-0 as a pro.
