"Ellsworth (Spider) Webb withstood a last round bombardment to nab a unanimous 10 round decision over Charlie Green in the televised main event at Hollywood Legion Stadium. Webb displayed a pair of the fastest dukes it's been my pleasure to watch in years. After viewing the way he jabbed Green full of holes it's small wonder that Webb is ranked 8th among the world's middleweight contenders. Although badly beaten and with a swelling gash under his left eye, Green made a fight of it right down to the final bell. Aside from the 8th and 10th, Webb was a solid winner." -L.A. Times
