- Date: 1957-10-16
- Location: Freedom Hall, Louisville, Kentucky, USA
- Webb was a substitute for Ralph (Tiger) Jones who pulled a hip ligament in training four days earlier.
- On the basis of this win IBC matchmaker Billy Brown promised Webb a fight in New York on either November 1st or the 15th against either Gene Fullmer, Willie Vaughan or Neal Rivers, which turned out to be Vaughan on the 1st.
"Middleweight contender Spider Webb scored a 59 second knockout over Jackie LaBua in their TV bout here at the Kentucky Exposition Center Wednesday night. The Chicago Spider dropped New Yorker Jackie with a right to the chin for the full count. LaBua tore into Spider seconds into the round hoping to catch him 'cold.' LaBua, in his surprise attack, did land several body punches and one left hook to the chin that rocked the Spider backward a few steps. But then Webb began firing back. He staggered LaBua, then a left jab, a left hook and a bullet-straight right to the chin dropped Jackie flat on his back, counted out for the first time in 39 fights." -United Press
