"Spider Webb racked up his 18th straight win tonight, finishing British Empire champion Pat McAteer with a TKO win at 2:32 of the 2nd round. McAteer was on the deck three times before referee Bill Doty stepped in to halt the scrap. Webb, a 4-1 favorite, never was in trouble, and late in the 1st round he began connecting with right hooks to keep McAteer on the defensive." -United Press
