"Spider Webb, Wednesday had his hands full in taking a unanimous 10 round decision over left-hooking Randy Sandy in a savage brawl that left both fighters dripping blood. The Chicago Stadium gathering of about 1,500 fans booed the decision after the surprising Sandy gave Webb, 3rd ranking middleweight, one of his best scraps in the televised show. Webb opened a cut at the corner of Sandy's left eye in the 1st round. In the 2nd, he had Sandy on the verge of a knockout, rocking him with a left and right. But the unranked New Yorker kept pressing in and by the 3rd was giving Webb touble. The 10th was a continuous brutal flurry that brought applause from the audience. Sandy landed a right that brought blood flowing from a cut over Webb's left eye and the fight ended with both fighters bleeding freely." -Associated Press
