Home of the Chester Times Diamond Belt Tournament (which included fighters from the State of Delaware) for the 2 of the 3 years of it's existence (1941 to 1943). The Delaware State Guard held the tournament in 1942 in association with the Chester Times. Directed by Times editor Bill Burke, the Times ran a total of 19 shows in the 3 years. All the shows were sold out (1800) with the exception of the last on Jan. 28th 1943 being 50 shy of capacity due to a reported 12" snowfall. Many of the winners of the tournamet went on to fight in the Philadelphia Inquirer's Tournament of Champions which included the Mid-Atlantic AAU titles and the Inquirer's Diamond Belt.
