Young, a 30-year-old heavyweight, died June,14 2003, 2 days after sustaining injuries during a Toughman contest with Sarah Kobie in Sarasota, FL, USA. Young had attended the event the day before as a spectator, but decided to return the next day after it was announced that the event needed additional boxers. Since Kobie was the only woman signed up to fight, the promoters offer to waive the $50 entrance fee for Young. Young had never boxed nor trained for a fight.
