"Steve Belloise, high-ranking middleweight from New York, put a temporary halt to Henry Brimm's upward climb here last night when he hammered out a split decision over the Buffalo Negro in the 10-round feature match of a Memorial Auditorium card. The ring-wise New Yorker had to come from behind to take the verdict as Brimm's sharp-shooting left jabs mixed with occasional rights piled points for the local lad in the early rounds when he drew blood from his opponent's nose and inflicted a small cut over his left eye. Belloise, 159 1/2, punching harder and more effectively in the late stages, showed best in the 6th heat when he staggered Brimm, 156 1/4, with a cracking right and then belabored him with both hands." -United Press
