"At MSG last night Robert Villemain lost a decision to Steve Belloise in a bloody 10 rounder. Villemain caught the fancy of the crowd in his American debut. Blood streamed from wide cuts around both his eyes but he refused to sag. Instead he carried the fight to his older opponent in the late rounds. Belloise did the heavy damage although he never seemed to have Villemain in a bad way. All through the fight, Steve seemed bewildered when the Frenchman refused to go down after he landed his Sunday punch." -Associated Press
