"Panamanian featherweight Antonio Amaya, 130, won a unanimous 10 round decision Sunday night over former world featherweight champion Ultiminio (Sugar) Ramos. Amaya repeatedly ripped into the Cuban born Ramos, 131, with vicious combination punches to the head. There were no knockdowns but when the bout ended blood was pouring from Ramos' eyes, nose and forehead. Amaya was unmarked. The 15,000 fans who almost filled the Monterrey bullring shouted for Ramos to retire." -United Press International
