- At the official weigh-in, Robinson was 147¼ when he first stepped on the scale. After a couple of trips to a steam box, he was able to make the welterweight limit.
- This was Robinson's last fight as a welterweight.
- Robinson was paid one dollar for the Fusari fight. The rest of his purse went to the Damon Runyon Memorial Fund for Cancer Research.
- In his autobiography, Robinson claimed that he agreed to carry Fusari the 15-round distance.
