Robinson toyed with the shorter, short-armed Harris, doing everything but putting him down. Harris's bent over style, with his hands wrapped around his head, presented a difficult target for Robinson in his attempt to score a knockout. After the fight, Robinson told Harris, "You're the cleanest fighter I've ever met."
The fight was fought during a two-week long power strike, as well as a trolley strike. A generator was used to provide the outdoor lighting.
